Day 10

Oh me glop. The package shipped from TN to Or in just one night. That was really fast. I woke up early this morning (6:40ish) because I couldn't sleep and am now sharing my breakfast with my cat. I'm overly excited to the point I'm wide awake and refreshing the tracking every few minutes hoping to see that they have updated and my package is now in a truck headed towards me. I think once that happens I'll be stalking the windows waiting for the truck to come.

My industrial piercing might be infected. I already have a bump on one hole but now the top hole is swollen and is hurting, which is another reason I can't sleep. I'm most likely going to have to stop in at the parlor I got it done at and see what's going on. I hope it isn't infected. I already have to wrap it up with gauze and tape while wearing wigs (It's going to be a serious pain.) so if you just got pierced....DON'T TOUCH IT. Oh my gosh. I started touching it and I think that's why it gets so bothered. So don't touch, do your salt soaks until the blasted thing is healed 100%

Anyway....Enough of that. I'll be updating again later if the package does come and maybe do a review on the company we ordered our Tsubasa costumes.

Day 11- Eyebrows and Nails

My package is at the airport in Hong Kong!!! It's most likely waiting to be put on the plane. I'm excited. Two more days and it'll be here. Of course that means I'll be taking tons of photos for a review later one. I'll make sure to post a few. I also bought some lovely fake nails for the con that will go with all three of my outfits.

                                                                   Pretty aren't they?

You can get some at Tana Nail I've had these babies on my wishlist for a long time. But I had to use my garage sale money towards a new wig. So when I came into some more money I went ahead and bought these since my nails are cut short because they grow really frail and break easily. I love 3d nails. They are so eye catching. These look fit for a duchess. I'll make sure to do a review when they come. I just hope they come in time.

Now to eyebrows.

I'm sure almost every cosplayer or person getting into cosplay has seen a cosplay with colored eyebrows. I think it really pulls the cosplay together. Make-up when used in cosplay really makes you become the character. It's magical when used right. Which of course takes lots of practice. Make-up can be tricky. So don't feel bad if you are having issues. I'm having issues with colored eyebrows.

I'm searching for some good ways that don't require paint or glue (We tried both and it takes too long to dry and is way too messy. But I will post a few links about this.) so I'll go ahead and post what links I find that are useful down below. I hope you find them useful as well. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Keep in mind two of our cosplays have pink/orange and purple eyebrows so that's what I'm aiming for and will list below the links in a TO-GET list. Maybe that will help you as well.

LINKS

White eyeliner + eyeshadow

Glue+Paint

Mascara brush + Acrylic

Got to pick a method. I have the paint needed for the mascara version. But the "colored eyebrow" method would be quick and would be bright and natural. Hm...

Day 12

PANIC MODE. Pre-con madness has set in. Everything is boring. It's hard to focus on anything expect cosplay. Besides our good news that our package should be shipped tomorrow and will be here by Wednesday. It only takes two day to ship which is REALLY REALLY fast airmail. Since it's by Fedex that's why it takes so little time. It's already been cleared and is ready to be shipped. I'm very excited. My hubby said last night he was really excited to try on his costume. I feel the same. It's a pretty heavy package so I'm guessing my gown is going to be very long. I can't wait!

Besides that I might be starting a manga review on here. Maybe once a week. I'm making a template for a normal book review for my other blog so I might put the manga reviews on here instead.

My plans for these 21 days are cleaning, sewing, mending Break's boots and packing. Otherwise I'm pretty much ready. It's going to be a great con. And a much needed break.

Day 13- Tracking update

Our tracking number for our big box of cosplay has finally worked. It says it should be here on the 22nd. I'm so happy and feeling much better about our shipment now. So now that is settled and I don't have to stress over it, here is our schedule for the con.

Panels

SAT

2:00Pm-3.00pm--FMA: Through the Eyes of Maes Hughes (Sonny Strait)

SUN

10:30am-11:30---Sonny Strait Autograph
3:00pm- Interview and photoshoot for Breaking All The Rules, cosplay novel.
 (Maybe the ball)

On the 30th we're going food shopping, gathering what supplies we need before we leave. After we're done shopping we'll most likely go to our own homes and pack up. I normally have to write a long list telling my parents how to take care of my fish and hamster. Then pack. I already have most of our cosplay supplies and wigs ready to go. As well as our costumes.

I'm hoping to stay organized this time. My plan is one bag for my causal clothing, and other needed clothing items. I also pack in stockings and shoes in this bag. I also put in wigs in my bag. Then I have my mom's vintage blue carry case which has my toiletries and cosplay things I can't fit in the cosplay train case.  Then we have garment bags for our cosplay costumes and props. I keep the costumes in these year round so they stay clean and so I don't sit on the props.

So that's only three bags for me. Not too bad seeing as one is for both of us. I'm not taking too many street clothes this time. I took way too many to the last few cons. So I think I'll bring one outfit to wear in the hotel room as well as my sleep wear and a sweatshirt. So I'll have lots of room for shoes!

I'm hoping to leave early on the 31st so we can stop by Sonic and get us some yummy drinks. I'm saying around 9 in the morning but who knows with my hubby. He's bad with times. Once we arrive at the con space (The con space is large, split between two hotels and a park.) We'll be parking at the hotel we're staying. Then go to pre-reg. We already have our badges. At least I do. We're hoping to meet up with the friends we're rooming with and hang out around the park until three-four when we can check in to our room. I'm really excited to be sharing the room.

Day one. I'm hoping to get up around 6:30-7:00am and start getting both my hubby and I ready for the con. We'll be wearing our new Tsubasa costumes for day one. Luckily our make-up is pretty low key.

Day Two. Will be a very important day. At three is my interview for the cosplay book. I'm wearing Sharon most of the day until after the interview so I can either wear lolita or Sakura and maybe go shopping.

Day Three- After we pack up and check out around 12, we'll just hang around the con. I might wear lolita or Sakura. Not sure yet. I know I want to wear one of those.

It's going to be a wonderful con. I can't wait.

Day 15- Crunch time!

Oh glop. So close. The panel schedule was just released  and it seems we'll only be going to two-three panels. I'm not really into panels nor is Nic. We'll be seeing the panel by the voice actor of Maes Hughes from FMA. I'm so excited to see him. He's awesome. We're seeing Vic in April. I can't wait for that either.

We're still waiting for our big package of Tsubasa. I don't think it's in the states yet. Otherwise the tracking would be working. When I talk about the package I fail my arms in the air and say "It's in the air!" It gets a good giggle out of everyone. But it's true. It's on a plane. :D

Last night I tamed my Sharon wig. Now I'm working on the PH costumes. I still have a bit of beading to do and I need to hem the skirt of the dress again as well as fix the zipper. But I have time so I'm doing it slowly so I have things to do until the con.

Beading is fairly easily but is very easy to make a mistake on. So I figured out a good technique that works for me and the bow's ribbon. Make sure whatever your beading is thin fabric and your using the right type of needle. Beading needles are small and thin and they break easily (I already broke two.) So be careful because it can ruin all your hard work.

I also found the black lace so I'm going to finally add lace to Break's jabot. These smaller details aren't needed but it gives me something to do. I love seeing the seed beads sparkle when I move the fabric. I can't wait to wear it. It's making me excited. I was tired of wearing Sharon gown during Sakura-con because it's such a pain and gets dirty easily but now that I'm fixing it up I'm liking it much more.

Although I'm still more excited about wearing Sakura to K-con. So I'm going to go work on the costumes now before I get too tired or lose my patience. I have to write too. Ta-ta for now.

Day 16- Wigggggg

After a few days of searching high and low for a good (And right colored) wig for Sharon I've decided to whip my old one out and comb through the tangles, wash it and maybe even sew on the ponytail so I don't have to risk ordering a new one and it

A. Coming in late (16 days left!!!)
B. Is the wrong color (AGAIN)

The risks are too high otherwise and I really can't find a good wig for some reason. Sharon's hair is a weird blend between a light orange and pink. So most of them (Besides the stolen pictures) are the wrong color. So I think I'll deal with the one I got. ;_;

But that means I have some extra cash to spend on something to add onto my lolita outfit!!! Going to go window shop now so I can pick something out.
